Life is made up of small pleasures
— French proverb

  • Four bedrooms

  • Seven beds (two king beds, one queen and one single)

  • Two bathrooms (shower + bathtub)

  • AC (two indoor units)

  • Multiple installed and portable Sonos speakers

  • Fully renovated and modern kitchen

  • Full fibre broadband and Wi-Fi

  • 65 inch TV with Apple TV

  • Large roof terrace with refrigerator, dinner table,
barbecue and inflatable splash pool for the kids

How to get here

The closest airport is in Béziers, just 20min away. Some larger airports have a direct connection here, especially in the summer months. The most common choice however, will be Montpellier Mediterranean Airport, just over an hour by car from Causses-et-Veyran. It might also be worth checking options to Barcelona. That’s a three hour drive, but it can still be a better choice if getting to Montpellier involves connecting flights (plus prices can be cheaper).

If travelling by train, Béziers train station is where you want to get off.

There is a public bus route from Béziers to Causses-et-Veyran, but daily departures are few and far between. A rental car is strongly advised, there is ample parking in the village.

things to do

  • MARKET & BROCANTES IN PÉZENAS

    35MIN DRIVE

If you are at all interested in interior decorating, wandering around in the numerous antique shops in Pézenas is a must. And if you go on a Saturday, you’ll have the large weekly market to explore and enjoy as well!

  • GORGE D'HERIC

    30MIN DRIVE

The entrance to the Haut-Languedoc regional natural park is just a few kilometers north of the village. This accessible and beautiful hike along the natural water springs is just one of many gems to be found. And if you happen to be a runner or want more hiking options, you can find som curated trail suggestions in the region here.

  • Au Pech gourmand

    15MIN DRIVE

One thing you definitely need in France is a go-to Boulangerie. Au Pech Gormand is our choice for bread and pastries alike.

  • La Tamarissière

    40MIN DRIVE

This is not the closest beach to the house, but it is our favourite. A bit quieter and less crowded, but still with everything you need. If you prefer boardwalks, tourist shops and ice cream parlors en masse, try Valras Plage instead.

  • OLARGUES

    35MIN DRIVE

Olargues is listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, and it’s easy to see why when you get here. A lunch (or dinner) at the sublime restaurant Fleurs d' Olargues will complete your visit.

  • PIRATE COVE

    45MIN DRIVE

If you are vacationing with kids, there are many activities to be found in the greater Cap d’Agde region. This pirate themed waterpark is just one of many great options!

  • CANOEING IN ROQUEBRUN

    10MIN DRIVE

This is a great activity for kids and adults alike. From the base in Roquebrun you can pick from several packages and drop-off points, ranging from 90mins all the way up to 3 days. Many different routes means both the family with younger children and the adrenaline junkies are covered!

  • LA PETITE TABLE

    30MIN DRIVE

Just as in France at large, high quality restaurant options are plentiful all around. This one is the more casual little sister to Michelin star decorated La Table De Castigno, and with its quaint outdoor setting on the lovely Assignan town square, it’s a choice as good as any!

  • A SWIM BY PONT DE RÈALS

    10MIN DRIVE

If you want to cool off without driving to the ocean, taking a swim in the nearby Orb river is an excellent and lovely choice, not least in the evenings. There are numerous good spots close by, this being one of them. The river bottom is rocky though, so pick up a pair of cheap bathing shoes at the supermarket before you head out!

You are awoken. Not by the jarring sound of an alarm clock, but by the faint ringing of the village church bells. The first rays of morning light are seeping through the shutters, a sign that the sun has made its way over the neighbouring mountain top. You pull on some baggy clothes and pop over to the bread depot to pick up your daily baguette and croissants, preparing for yet another indulgent French breakfast. The only urgency of the day is getting to the nearby village of Pézenas before noon, as today is the day of its popular weekly market. You need to secure your share of fresh local produce, because tonight it is finally your turn to offer up a proper feast on the terrace.

Welcome to a lifestyle where time truly does move at a slower pace, and where the spirit of “joie de vivre” is embraced and celebrated by all.
